Registration form: with NY Department of Education
- Governmental agencies
- Organizations
Who's Exempt
Religious organizations (houses of worship) and organizations run by religious organizations
Membership organizations that do not solicit from the public
Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs)
Educational institutions that file with NY Department of Education
Governmental agencies
Organizations with gross contributions under $25,000/year AND no professional fundraisers
Note: Even exempt organizations must file CHAR 500 claiming exemption

Initial registration fee: $25 (if soliciting contributions)
Renewal Process
Due date: 15th of 5th month after fiscal year end (or within 4.5 months)
