Who's Exempt

1. Federally Tax-Exempt Organizations: Exempt from federal annual information return under IRC Section 6033(a)(3)(A)(i), (iii), and (C)(i)

2. All-Volunteer Organizations:

All functions including solicitation performed by unpaid persons

Does not raise or intend to raise more than $25,000 in fiscal year

No part of assets/income inures to benefit of officers or members

3. Membership Solicitation Only:

Fraternal, civic, benevolent, patriotic, or social organizations

Solicit contributions only from membership

4. Educational Institutions:

Nonprofit postsecondary institutions accredited by regional accrediting agency (20 USC 1099b), OR

Educational institutions and authorized charitable foundations soliciting only from students, families, alumni, faculty, trustees, corporations, foundations, and patients

5. Named Individual Relief Collections:

Solicit for relief of named individual

All contributions given directly to individual without deductions
